The 2026 Iris Almeria Davis Scholarship recipients are:
Ms. Channa McGowan, RN – Awarded a $3,000 scholarship in support of her continued professional development. Ms. McGowan is pursuing online studies in Diabetes at the University of South Wales, advancing her knowledge and expertise to enhance nursing practice and improve patient outcomes.
Ms. Unzae Swan – Awarded a $3,500 scholarship as a student nurse. Ms. Swan is pursuing her nursing education at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, preparing for a career dedicated to compassionate, evidence-based patient care and professional excellence.
Ms. Naziah Robinson – Awarded a $3,500 scholarship as a student nurse. Ms. Robinson is pursuing her nursing education at Birmingham City University, where she is developing the knowledge, skills, and leadership qualities to make a meaningful contribution to the nursing profession.
Named in honour of the late Iris Almeria Davis, a distinguished Bermudian nurse whose legacy of compassion, professionalism, and commitment to excellence continues to inspire generations of nurses, the scholarship supports both aspiring and practising nurses in achieving their educational and professional goals.
This year, the Bermuda Nurses Association awarded a total of $10,000 in scholarships, reaffirming its commitment to investing in the education and professional advancement of Bermuda's nursing workforce.
